Brown Rudnick LLP, an international law firm, has signed collaboration agreements with two well-known UAE law firms, Hikmat Fayad & Associates and Walid Nasser & Associates.
Brown Rudnick will partner with both firms on transactions and disputes, building on its recent successes in the UAE, led by Nicholas Tse, Partner and Head of Brown Rudnick’s MENA Practice and Sebastien Bonnard, Partner and Head of Brown Rudnick’s Paris office.
The agreements bring together the local firms’ strong experience in handling Arabic-language transactional work and disputes before State Courts and in arbitration, with Brown Rudnick’s reputation and track record for handling complex common law and civil law transactions and litigation and arbitration relating to the MENA region.
Mr. Hikmat Fayad founded his firm in Beirut in 1970 and in Dubai in 1977, when the Emirate was beginning its extraordinary transformation, and has developed a strong track-record in litigation, arbitration and corporate work.
Mr. Walid Nasser founded his firm in Beirut in the 1980s and partnered with a law firm in Erbil, Iraq. He has since joined forces with Hikmat Fayad in Dubai and has an international transactional and disputes practice, working across the MENA region from Beirut and Dubai.
Brown Rudnick has been active in the MENA region for some time. Through offices in London and Paris, the firm offers clients an integrated bi-lingual team of English barristers and French avocats (some dual-qualified), combining both civil and common law competencies with extensive multi-jurisdictional trial experience, and supported by a strong U.S. litigation capability.
“We are thrilled to be joining forces with these two reputable law firms,” said Joseph Ryan, Brown Rudnick’s Chairman and CEO. “This unique collaboration brings together firms from multiple jurisdictions to offer seamless, high quality transactional and disputes services in the UAE.”
Hikmat Fayad added, “We are looking forward to working in partnership with Brown Rudnick and providing clients with unrivalled legal services in the region.”
“The combined experience of the three firms will enable us to represent clients at the very highest level across the relevant jurisdictions.” said Walid Nasser. “It’s an exciting start to the year.”
