Canon Middle East (CME), a leader in imaging solutions, supported by Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, will once again join hands to host their annual blood donation drive under the patronage of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation and in association with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion & Research Center.
HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian & Scientific Foundation, has initiated several magnanimous projects for the need and benefit of the local, regional and international community.
Held under the theme ‘It Takes 20 Minutes to Save 3 Lives’ the drive is being organised to celebrate the annual ‘World Blood Donation Day’, which is held on June 14 worldwide. This year’s event is dedicated to those heroes who save lives with their donations.
The drive is intended to raise awareness about the plight of those with blood disorders like Thalassemia. It will be open for willing donors to participate on June 8 from 9:00AM to1:30PM at Dubai Internet City, for all TECOM Business partners, and on June 9 from 9:00AM to1:30PM at Dubai Outsource Zone, too.
The Foundation, which will be one of the recipients of the drive, comes as an extension of the vision of HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to ensure and deliver the determined objectives that serve the UAE community in specific, and the global community in general. The main objective is to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from common genetic disorders prevalent in the community including those afflicted with Thalassemia & Haemoglobinopathies.
Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions, practices the principles laid out in its corporate philosophy ‘Kyosei’– living and working together for the common good. Civic activities like the blood donation drive form one part of the organisation’s many and varied socially-conscious initiatives.
