Cavotec Middle East’s Managing Director, Mr. Juergen Strommer has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa, when the Leading global engineering group Cavotec SA recently announced its new 8-member Senior Management Team, effectively replacing the current Executive Management Committee.
The new Senior Management Team will fulfil the Group Management role as empowered by the CEO and will ensure efficient implementation of decisions into the organization. It will also define and implement operational strategy, policies, technical and commercial developments, as well as new acquisitions in line with targets set by the Company’s Board of Directors.
“The creation of the new Senior Management Team is an integral part of the new organisation that came in to effect 1 January 2015,” said Ottonel Popesco, Chief Executive Officer of Cavotec. “The SMT is made up of the Company’s top operational and corporate functions and will support me in bringing Cavotec up to the next level in our growth cycle,” he added.
Mr. Strommer joined the Cavotec Group in 2007 as Managing Director and has since overseen the steady growth of the Group’s Middle East, India and Africa operations, having played a significant and key role in marking several major achievements for the company, the most noteworthy of which is Cavotec’s milestone EUR 30 million turnkey project for the Bahrain Airport Company, one of the largest orders in the Group’s history. Juergen also steered the company towards landing other vital projects that helped build the region’s aviation industry into the highly-developed sector that it is today.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1970, Juergen has a degree in mechanical engineering and in Business Management. In his spare time Juergen is a keen sportsman: he is an enthusiastic skier and plays golf and tennis.
