Centamin updates plans for its Egypt gold mine

London-listed mining firm, Centamin has unveiled an optimised mining plan for its Sukari gold mine in Egypt that shows an increase in the grade of open pit ore sent to the mill to 1.1 to 1.52 grammes per tonne (g/t) gold. The plan, which was revised to better reflect the expected increase in mining rates resulting from the delivery of additional equipment, also shows higher mining rates of ore in the open pit in 2014 and 2015. The company currently expects Sukari to produce 367,187 ounces of gold next year, which would increase to 431,366 in 2014 and 445,101 in 2015.
