Co-ed ban hits only Saudi-owned schools

Saudi education authorities have said that the planned separation of boys and girls in private foreign schools applies only to those schools owned by Saudis, the Saudi Gazette has reported. "The ministry of education has expressly stated that while a committee exists, it is for foreign schools that are owned by Saudi investors only and does, therefore, not apply to foreign community schools that are owned by their own communities," Director of Foreign Education at the Jeddah Education Administration, Khalid Al-Orabi Al-Harthi said in a statement.
