Coca-Cola sponsors the ninth Regional Conference for Social Responsibility

The conference focused on the most important social practices and initiatives adopted by companies in the Jordanian market

Out of its keenness to continue its leading and effective role in the development and support of the community, the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Jordan (CCBCJ) sponsored the ninth Regional Conference for Social Responsibility in the Arab world.

The conference was held by the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development, under the patronage of the Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Nsour, at the Royal Cultural Center, over two consecutive days on the 27th and the 28th of October 2015.

This Conference, which came this year under the slogan “Maintaining the gains and facing the challenges”, focused on the most important social practices and initiatives adopted by companies in the Jordanian market, and the presentation of the social responsibility projects shouldered by the companies and civil society institutions, in addition to the exchange of experiences and the possibility of benefitting from them.

During the conference, CCBCJ presented some of the social responsibility initiatives and projects that serve the local community, it also shared its expertise in the application of its own social responsibility system applied in 207 countries around the world. CCBCJ is working to acquire the best international experiences and find the best application within its local system to serve the local community.

On his part, the Director of Human Resources and External Affairs of CCBCJ Mr. Iyad Samman said: “We are proud that the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Jordan plays an active role in such an event, since CCBCJ is one of the most aware and committed companies towards serving the Jordanian society and sustaining our resources. We are also happy to share our expertise and initiatives with other companies participating in the conference and benefit from the other experiences presented to achieve the best output in the field of corporate responsibility.”

It is worth noting that CCBCJ were among the top ten countries in the Eurasia and Africa region of Coca-Cola which consists of more than 90 countries. Also it came in second place in 2010 in the category of medium-sized companies in social responsibility awards in Dubai which has been held by the Arab award for social responsibility.
