Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has scooped three Banker Middle East Product Awards for its industry leading innovations in the Digital Banking field. CBD’s digital kiosk was awarded the ‘Best Kiosk Interface’ in the region.
The bank also received the ‘Best New Online Service’ award for its unique Facebook branch and ‘Best Online Banking Services’ award for its Online Banking portal at a prestigious ceremony held on April 7th.
The annual awards ceremony celebrates the region’s best banking products and services, and is widely respected by the banking industry.
In 2014, CBD embarked on a growth strategy to expand its digital banking offering by introducing a range of new online services. In March 2014, the bank introduced a new online banking system featuring Sara, the first Virtual Assistant available to banking customers in the region. The Bank was the first in the region to launch both advanced Personal Finance Management and Virtual Assistant (Sara) modules online.
CBD also introduced a Facebook branch, the first of its kind in the Middle East. The new branch allows customers to check their balance, pay their bills, make transactions and monitor their expenses through the social media platform.
In line with CBD’s objectives to tap the youth market, the Bank has also developed innovative solutions to help young customers begin their ‘digital’ journey with the Bank. CBD introduced a new branch concept, the digital kiosk, which incorporates the latest interactive technology. Designed to appeal to the youth, the digital kiosk offers a high quality and engaging customer experience utilizing technologies including an Interactive Wall system, Tablet Devices and Touch Tables.

CBD’s latest wins add to the growing list of awards it has received for its banking solutions from the Banker Middle East UAE Product Awards. Previously, the bank was awarded Best Personal Loan, Best Mortgage and Best Wealth Management.
