Leading luxury real estate developer DAMAC Properties is supporting the 12th edition of the Umm Al Quwain Football Championship, which welcomes 16 teams from across the emirates.
The Championship, established as an annual event will be held between 23rd January and 6th February 2015 under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saud Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain and the President of the Executive Board.

DAMAC Properties is also sponsoring the 5th International Conference – ‘Sport Without Delinquency’ – organised by Dubai Police to be held between 26th and 28th January 2015. This is another clear example of the company’s commitment to events reflecting positively on the society at large and on young generations in particular.
Marwan Shaheen, Head of Co-ordination and PR in the organising committee said: “The tournament has witnessed great success in previous years, and we are looking to extend this success through the participation of more teams from the UAE and from abroad.”

The Championship will be held on the fields of the ‘Arabic Sport & Culture Club’ in Umm Al Quwain. Teams will be split into four groups of four teams who will play each other in a league format. The top two teams from each group will qualify to the second round that will be played based on knock out system, through to the final on 6th February 2015.
The Organising committee of Umm Al Quwain Football Championship has committed a large prize fund for the winning teams with Dhs100,000 going to the first placed team, Dhs60,000 for the runners-up, Dhs40,000 third place and Dhs10,000 for the team in fourth place.
Established in 2002, DAMAC Properties has delivered almost 12,000 units to date and currently has a development portfolio of over 39,000 units at various stages of progress and planning as of September 30th 2014, which includes over 10,000 hotel rooms and serviced hotel apartments.
