Dasman to provide insulin pumps for children in Kuwait

Kuwait's Dasman Diabetes Institute has launched a campaign, in partnership with Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), to raise funds needed to provide insulin pumps for child diabetics in the country, Kuna has reported. The number of diabetic children in Kuwait is currently 3,500, while the number of available insulin pumps, for both adults and children, is only 700, Marzouq Adel Al-Ghanim, the manager of the 'Pumps 4 Kids' campaign, told reporters. Kuwait is the second country in Asia in number of diabetics below 14 of age, he added.
