Complex Made Simple

Delegation participation is to raise awareness of DAC brand and its potential to attract US associations to emirate

As part of its efforts to attract regional and international associations to the emirate, the Dubai Association Centre (DAC) is participating in the Global Symposium under the theme, ‘Operating Globally: A Symposium to Strengthen Your Association’ organised by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), in Washington DC.

The ASAE Global Symposium will gather more than 100 associations’ executives that have international activities or have a strong interest in expanding their activities abroad hence the meeting offers Dubai Association Centre the opportunity to enhance the emirate’s presence in the US.

The Dubai Association Centre, which was formed earlier this year through a Royal decree, is a joint initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Dubai World Trade Centre (DTWC). Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the three organisations, DAC allows a formal environment where international non-profit, professional associations and trade bodies can form a membership-based community or open a regional representative office to conduct business in the UAE and beyond.

Being the region’s unique model, the Centre provides assistance to trade and business associations to set up office space, obtain visas for staff, establish local bank accounts, and develop their activities and membership in Dubai and the wider Middle East region. Under the membership of DAC, the global associations will benefit from economies of scale, experience in the association marketplace, flexibility and adaptability, increased buying power and centralised facilities.

Dubai Chamber, which represents DAC at the symposium, is hosting a private dinner on the sidelines of the gathering for the ASAE International Section Council, the board of ASAE for all international related activities. The Chamber is also sponsoring a lunch on the concluding day of the Symposium, to raise awareness of DAC to the targeted associations as well as to continue building a strong partnership with ASAE for future events.

The Chamber’s objective is also to showcase what Dubai has to offer to global not-for-profit associations, especially those from the US, in setting up their operations in the emirate while also to enjoy all the support and benefits offered by Dubai Chamber to its members from the business community.
