In line with the directives of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to develop the government work environment; the Department of Finance- Abu Dhabi (DoF) has launched the ‘NIBRAS’ internal excellence award.
The award is designed to enhance internal processes and to promote and encourage the Department’s various organisational units to fulfill the tasks assigned to them and meet expectations.
Due to the operational diversity at the Department, DoF has allocated awards across four different categories. The first category honours DoF’s departments and sectors, the second focuses on projects and work teams while the third category celebrates outstanding employee and individual performance. Lastly, the fourth category recognises best practices in government work.
Commenting on this announcement, HE Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of DoF stressed the importance of the wise vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HH’s continuous commitment to develop institutional processes. HE Al Suwaidi said: “Launching organisational excellence programmes amongst Abu Dhabi government entities falls in line with ‘Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance’ objectives and creates an internal competitive platform for these entities in different areas and government departments.”
HE added: “The ‘NIBRAS’ Internal Excellence Award will help to establish the necessary framework for DoF to have integrated programmes for employees’ self-development. These programmes will help to provide leading services to customers, increase the efficiency of technical and administrative work systems through optimal resource utilisation and constructive cooperation with partners. This is to achieve the best operational results in line with the Department’s strategic vision to achieve prosperity and welfare in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through our advanced financial framework and prudent fiscal policies.”
HE concluded: “DoF is delighted to have launched this award which will support our ongoing efforts to build an innovative and creative work environment, develop employees’ performance and efficiency levels and motivate them to provide greater leadership and commitment to the Department.”
