Dhamani 1969 wins gold at 2014 ICSC MENA Shopping Centre and Retailer Awards

Global architecture and design firm Callison announced that its flagship store concept for the luxury jeweler Dhamani won the Gold Award for Retail Store Design Excellence at the 2014 International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Shopping Centre and Retailer Awards. The ICSC MENA Shopping Centre and Retailer Awards recognizes projects in the region’s shopping center industry that exhibit outstanding achievement in retail, marketing, design and development of retail properties and retail store design. The awards were hosted in partnership with the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC).

“This is a tremendous honor for our Dhamani 1969 flagship. On behalf of the Callison and Dhamani families, we are pleased to receive this award recognizing the design on this project,” said Callison Principal Dave Scurlock. “ICSC and MECSC are renowned organizations that celebrate excellence in retail design, and we are thrilled to be among their award recipients this year.”

Located in The Dubai Mall, the Dhamani 1969 boutique offers world-class jewelry and cut gems. Callison designed the space with the idea and architectural character of “Modern Glamour,” creating a timeless look to outfit the classic luxury needs of Dhamani. With dark wood finishes, signature lighting treatments and elegant custom surfaces, the resulting designs celebrate each of Dhamani’s handcrafted masterpieces and distinct-cut gemstones as individual works of art.

ICSC honored the Dhamani 1969 project at an awards dinner during their 2014 RECon Middle East & North Africa conference. ICSC RECon is the premiere networking and educational conference for the shopping center industry in the Middle East and North Africa. The forum was held in Dubai.
