DLD doubles real estate transaction fee

The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has doubled the registration fee charged for real estate transactions, in an effort to prevent excessive speculation in its property market, Arab News has reported. The fee will increase to 4% from 2% from October 6, said the director general of the DLD, Sultan Butti bin Mejren. "Warehouses and industrial property will be excluded from the new rule," he added.
