With its objective of highlighting e-Commerce concept and its introduction into a company’s overall strategy, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is all set to organise a series of new awareness-raising sessions to inform representatives of Dubai companies about the benefits of online trading offered to businesses through Dubai Chamber/Alibaba.com partnership.
Coming as part of Dubai Chamber’s efforts in applying and promoting the concept of smart trade in line with Dubai’s strategy to transform into a Smart City, these workshops will offer strategies and techniques on how to plan, build and manage an e-commerce business as well as real life examples and case studies which will help participants gather the necessary practical knowledge for e-commerce success worldwide.
The awareness-raising sessions, highlighting the new era of doing business through e-commerce, its benefits, smart sourcing and tips on buying and selling on alibaba.com, will be held on September 30, October 28 and November 2 at Dubai Chamber head office, followed by other sessions on October 28 in DAFZA, October 12 in Ras Al Khaimah and November 9 in Ajman, from 8:30am to 2:00pm.
The awareness-raising sessions will offer participants a wide range of features and benefits for companies joining the e-commerce platform including obtaining of the Chamber’s Verified Membership and “Trusted Member” Label Scheme.
The UAE is ranked as the largest e-commerce market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. According to Dubai Chamber statistics based on “PayPal” data, the size of the UAE market is expected to reach USD5.1 billion by the end of 2015 thus acquiring a third of the total expected e-commerce market share of USD15 billion in the Middle East and North Africa.
Alibaba.com is a leading global e-commerce platform used by 40 million users around the world showcasing 2.8 million supplier storefronts. Dubai Chamber has last year established a partnership with Alibaba.com to launch a MENA portal www.dubaichamber.com/alibaba to offer businesses in the MENA region a unique opportunity to create new market prospects and to start connecting and selling their products and services to businesses worldwide.
