Dubai Duty Free was named the “Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping in the Middle East” at the recently concluded Business Traveller Middle East awards held on the eve of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM, 4th – 7th May), at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai.
Dubai Duty Free, which achieved record sales of US$1.917 billion in 2014 and has been acknowledged as the largest single airport duty free operation in the world, came out tops in the readers’ survey conducted by the magazine within the category “Best Airport for Duty Free Shopping in the Middle East.”
More than 350 executives from across the travel industry attended the awarding ceremony organized by Motivate and Panacea Publishing.
Commenting on the recent award, Executive Vice Chairman of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin said: “This award reflects the views and opinions of frequent travelers and we are delighted to once again claim the top spot in the duty free category. The award was presented by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, a well-known British design consultant and TV personality, along with Usman Arif, Head of UAE, Lebanon & Jordan & Head of MENA Strategic Partnerships at American Express.
