As part of promoting the culture of volunteerism in all kind of social and humanitarian initiatives and programs, Dubai Municipality has formed a special team named Tatawwu recently.
Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality has issued an administrative order No. 12/2013 in this regard. As per the order, Khalid Mohammed Badri, director of customer relations department of the civic body will patron and supervise the activities of the team.
The office bearers of the team have been appointed being Mona Mohammed Malik, head of job & salary evaluation unit at the human resources department, the leader and Amal AbdulRaheem head of planning & development office at the planning department, as deputy leader.
In this regard, Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, said, “The forming of team Tatawwu comes as part of building and spreading the culture of volunteerism and create a platform for those who wish to dedicate their time and effort for causes that benefit society and community.” According to him, as volunteerism comes as one of the criteria considered for Dubai government excellence awards, formation of such a group would help Dubai Municipality perform in a better way in the field of social and humanitarian drives.
He said, “The team keeps a systematic data-base with regards to its members so as to ease the co-ordinations and deployment of personnel in events and programs. It is learnt that team Tatawwu would send volunteers upon requests from various administrative units at departments of Dubai Municipality for supporting events. Also, the team will coordinate with various other departments other than Dubai Municipality to carry out and support initiatives and events that benefit society. The team will make use of the expertise and skills within Dubai Municipality as well as from outside to perform their tasks in better ways.”
In efforts to better performance, the team will arrange trainings to enrich members’ skills collaborating with the human resources department of the civic body.
