Dubai municipality records over 6,700 building violations

The municipality of Dubai has said the majority of the 6,747 violations building inspectors recorded in the past six months comprised illegal additions and unapproved partitions, Gulf News has reported. "Most of the violators had been booked for constructing additions without obtaining a licence," said acting director at the Building Department, Marwan Abdulla. Other violations included accommodating bachelors in residential areas, two families staying in one flat and using the building for purposes other than what is permitted.
