Dubai school apologises for confusion over exam fees

Dubai's Westminster School, a private British curriculum school run by Gems Education, has apologised to parents for the confusion caused after sending them a letter demanding payment for exams fees for their grade nine children, Gulf News has reported. The June 25 letter said the school will charge Dhs475 per subject for grades nine and higher, and Dhs150 per subject for grade six in exam fees. "This was an administrative error as parents have never been charged for examination fees in grade 9 because there are no board exams," the school said. "To be clear there are board examinations in grade 10, 11, 12 and 13," it said.
