Dubai Trade sees 19.5m transactions worth AED1.2bn in 2015

Dubai Trade, the single window for cross-border trade and logistics, has revealed that it saw a significant growth in the number of companies that registered with it in 2015.

 

The trade facilitator added 16,800 new companies last year to its secured ePayment gateway, “Rosoom”, bringing the total number of firms registered on the portal to 113,354.

 

The ePayment gateway witnessed 19.5 million transactions during the year, marking a five per cent growth from the figures in 2014. The transactions amounted to AED1.2 billion.

 

Through its portal, Dubai Trade offers access to more than 820 integrated electronic services, such as cargo handling and invoicing, and payments for different users, including traders and shipping lines.

“Our courses and programmes have also encouraged the sharing of our expertise, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a vital trade hub and business leader,” added Bin Thaniah.

 

Last year, Dubai Trade carried out 132 e-services training sessions for 1,532 candidates.

 

“Dubai Trade is a role model and has expanded to new markets by replicating our services in Algeria,” stated Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade.

 

“We will soon unveil an electronic trade window that integrates all DP World Sub-Continent terminals in India,” said Al Bastaki referring to the world’s fourth-biggest container port operator’s six container terminals in the South Asian country.
