Ducab supports WETEX 2015 as Platinum Sponsor

Ducab will showcase its sustainability initiatives alongside its latest lines of industry-specific cabling

Ducab, the Middle East’s leading manufacturer of high quality cables and cabling products, will be present at Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2015 as a Platinum Sponsor.

During the exhibition and conference, which is being held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 21-23, Ducab will showcase its sustainability initiatives alongside its latest lines of industry-specific cabling, designed to meet the particular needs of the region’s most prominent industries.

The cable manufacturer’s participation is in line with the vision of its parent companies SENAAT and Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), to contribute to a more sustainable vision for the future of the UAE. As a leader in the UAE’s manufacturing sector, Ducab strives to lead the way in terms of developing sustainable practices for its industry, the manufacturing sector, and beyond.

It is currently a member of the Emirates Environmental Group and the Emirates Green Building Group, as well as being a founding member of the Dubai Quality Group, and is a strategic partner of the International Copper Association, UAE civil defence authorities, and the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology to promote energy efficiency and design safety for electrical systems.

Visitors to WETEX can see first-hand the way in which Ducab, the first choice of many within the regions’ market, supports sustainable economic development through the manufacture of high efficiency specialised cabling products.

Ducab offers top quality cables and copper products, including drawn wires, conductors and rods, in ranges that include PetroBICC, designed for the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sector; RuBICC, featuring flexible rubber cables; FlamBICC, the fire-retardant cable series, and NuBICC, which is a 60-year certified cable range for nuclear power plants.

Dr. Ahmad Al Shaikh, Chairman, Ducab, said: “The region’s energy industry is booming, and Ducab is proud to be partnered with several prestigious agencies to be a part of this exciting period of growth. We are especially proud to be forging the way to a more sustainable future, by assisting in the development of alternative energy solutions as well as by reviewing our own impact on the environment. WETEX presents an essential platform for us to associate with like-minded leaders, not only to demonstrate the capabilities of our growing array of cables, but to showcase that UAE-manufactured products are of a premium quality to do more than compete with international brands. As an Emirati company, we are exceptionally proud to have such a strong role in empowering our home and region.”

Recent projects Ducab has been involved with in the energy sector include working with DEWA for the Canal Project to deliver on a technical and education front, the latter through a seminar with international consultants and testing labs.
