The total automated collection of revenues by UAE’s Federal Government through the e-Dirham system during the year amounted to AED4 billion, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The ministry in its report says that this represents a growth of 11 per cent compared with AED3.6bn during the same period last year, reports UAE-based Aliqtisadi.
The report states that 33.46 million transactions amounting to AED7bn took place through the e-Dirham system during 2014.
It adds that the system contributed to the increase in the collection of fees for the services offered by the Federal Government by up to 79.8 per cent of total government revenues that have been collected in the first half of this year.
According to the report, the number of Smart services carried out through the e-Dirham system during the first six months of this year reached 18.7m transactions, up by nine per cent compared with 17m transactions in the first half of 2014.
