Emirates Float Glass achieves 1 million man-hours without loss time injury

Reflecting its commitment to occupational health and safety guidelines, Emirates Float Glass – part of Glass LLC and a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC and the first state-of-art integrated float glass facility in the UAE, has achieved one million man-hours without Loss Time Injury .

Mr Ghassan Mashal, General Manager of EFG, received a certificate and a special appreciation award to mark the milestone from Mr Fahad Ali Al Braidi, Vice President – Health, Safety and Environment at Industrial Development Bureau of Abu Dhabi .

Mr. Abdulaziz Bin Yagub Al Serkal, General Manager of Dubai Investments PJSC, and top officials from Dubai Investments, ZonesCorp, government agencies as well as EFG Board of Directors were present at the felicitation ceremony.

Mr Al Braidi said: “IDB assures its continued support to Emirates Float Glass and all industrial entities. The Industrial Sector EHS Regulatory Authority has been at the forefront of implementation of the occupational health and safety legislation and has excelled in assisting industrial entities to maintain safe workplace. There has been an enthusiastic and ongoing safety commitment from EFG management, supervision and workforce.”

Ghassan Mashal said: “We feel honoured to receive this special appreciation award from IDB & DED – Abu Dhabi, which is a testimony of our commitment towards safe working environment to all our employees. The macro approach of EFG in occupational health and safety has contributed significantly to the company’s performance and the Loss Time Injury incident rate has been completely eliminated since the 4th quarter of 2012.
