Emirati associates from FAMCO Social Committee, a group of associates dedicated towards CSR activities at Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO), lead a partnership with Noor Dubai Foundation to conduct free eye care screening for their associates.

This initiative comes in line with Al-Futtaim Automotive Group’s corporate social responsibility & its continuous efforts in raising awareness & promoting health within the UAE.

Noor Dubai is an international charitable non-governmental, non-for-profit foundation launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with an aim to eliminate avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

Experts from Noor Dubai Foundation recently conducted the free check-ups at a mobile eye clinic stationed at FAMCO headquarters in Dubai. The initiative was open to all FAMCO employees and included high numbers of participation from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai associates.

Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO and member of the board of Noor Dubai Foundation said: “We are pleased to have collaborated with Al-Futtaim Automotive Group, represented by FAMCO, on providing their associates with eye screenings. Last year our mobile eye clinic service screened more than 4,000 individuals in the country and we aim to reach out to a larger population this year. Such collaborations allow us to move closer towards our goal of eliminating preventable blindness in the country.”

Commenting on this initiative, Paul Floyd, Senior Managing Director, FAMCO, said: “Our collaboration with Noor Dubai Foundation gave us a unique opportunity to provide quality eye care to our associates on whom we rely every day to deliver great service to our customers. We are very pleased with the Emirati associates in FAMCO’s Social Committee who spearheaded this campaign, and we look forward to welcoming more initiatives such as this.”
