Emirati investments in Jordan hit $15 billon

MoU, aimed at enhancing cooperation in innovation, SME and R&D activities, signed

Bilal Rabee Al Bodour, UAE ambassador to Jordan, reveals that the trade exchange between Jordan and the UAE amounted to $ 1.4 billion in the past year.

He adds that Emirati investments in Jordan reached more than $15bn, Jordan-based Al Ghad newspaper reports.

The ambassador points out, during a press conference held in the embassy at Amman on the occasion of the UAE National Day, that there are many exchange programmes and investments between Jordan and the UAE.
Al Bodour stresses that the UAE is committed to paying its share of the Gulf grant and that there are projects that the country is currently financing in Jordan.

It’s worth mentioning that Abdullah Ensour, Jordan’s prime minister, recently inaugurated the Jordan-UAE Economic Forum, which seeks to bolster economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, which organised the event in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Industry, signed a memorandum of understanding with the UAE economy ministry that aimed at enhancing cooperation in innovation, small and medium-sized enterprises, and research and development activities.
