“Regionally, pharmacy practice has made great progress over the past years. There has been a focus on medication safety and quality of care. Automation of diverse medication management processes is trending, conducting risk assessments prior to introducing such innovative solutions can help define our expectations from such devices and contribute to optimized configuration and utilization of these systems,” Said Dr. Adeline Saliba, Pharmacy Manager- Corniche Hospital.

“A focus also needs to be made on improving communication between pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other healthcare professionals, medication management processes are often perceived as the sole responsibility of pharmacists, but over time, it has become apparent that it is each individual’s responsibility to ensure safe utilization and handling of drugs.
