Horouf, the ground breaking educational imprint of Kalimat Group, recently participated in the Teachers Skills Forum, the first regional forum of its kind, which was organised by the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) at the King Hussein bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea.

The forum brought together more than 700 educators from across the Arab world, international experts and speakers representing a number of prestigious universities, including the University of Colombia, Harvard University and Massachusetts Technology Institute, as well as exhibitors from several Arab and foreign countries who are specialised in areas related to children and education.

Held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, wife of the King of Jordan, the two-day forum focused on the pressing educational needs of the region by highlighting the importance of placing literacy, math, and science competencies at the heart of learning to prepare students for the 21st century work environment.

Speaking about Horouf’s participation, Tamer Said, Managing Director at Kalimat Group, said, “Our participation in the first regional forum of this kind in the Arab world offered us an opportunity to network and meet with a large number of teachers, educational experts, and academics interested in developing educational programmes. The forum also provided us with an ideal platform to introduce Horouf’s publications and smart applications. We have been impressed with the great interest shown in our publications and applications as well as the desire of many schools in Jordan and other Arab countries to benefit from them in developing the learning process.”

Horouf participated in the forum with a special stand that showcased its latest publications, including printed books and smart applications that offer a modern and integrated educational system in the Arabic language that target children. The first-of-its-kind initiative in the Arab world helps build and develop the capacity of students and support students’ learning in Arabic using a fun, smart, and modern technology enabled method.

Horouf participated in a number of workshops that focused on how to develop the academic performance of students in science, math, reading, and writing, as well as the use of smart applications in this regard.

The forum featured nearly 100 lectures, numerous plenaries, and hands-on workshops run by teachers and experts, as well as exhibitions, interactive activities, and reflective sessions. The sessions revolved around 5 main strands: science, math, English and Arabic literacy, technology in education, and general pedagogies, thus offering a unique platform for teachers and education professionals to exchange experiences with world renowned experts in a new and innovative setup.
