HTC champions home-grown creativity and musical talent by supporting the Thirty Seconds to Mars Battle of the Bands this September.
HTC is giving musicians the opportunity to enter the competition for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to open up for Thirty Seconds to Mars – the award-winning California based band consisting of brothers Jared and Shannon Leto as well as lead guitarist Tomo Miličević. They have sold over five million albums worldwide and achieved 85+ music industry awards in recognition of their talent. Their distinctive live performances have consistently packed out venues and sold out tickets worldwide.
The competition is open to all UAE and GCC residents who are 18 years or older and have at least two band members. Submissions will be accepted from Thursday, September 17th until Monday, September 21st, and entering couldn’t be easier. All entrants have to do is upload a 30 second video clip of their performance on Facebook or Twitter or their chosen social platform using the hashtags #MARSBattleoftheBands and #Dulive_HTC. The winning acts will be chosen by Thirty Seconds to Mars and announced on Wednesday, September 23rd.
“We see synergy between people who are passionate about music and our own customer base, which is why we are committed to delivering original, engaging and creative experiences to the people of the UAE. Our association with music goes beyond bringing people closer to the front row of their favourite artists and performers. We want to ignite passion and influence imagination within our own team so that we can continue bringing the best products and experiences to our customers throughout the Middle East,” said Neeraj Seth, Head of Marketing, HTC MEA.
The winners of Battle of the Bands will perform one song on the same stage as Thirty Seconds to Mars, as part of the opening act along with popular Dubai band Juliana Down. HTC will also sponsor prizes for the first, second and third place Battle of the Bands winners.
Second and third place Battle of the Bands winners will also have the opportunity to showcase their talent alongside 17 local live acts between Wednesday, September 23rd and Friday, September 25th on the du Live! and HTC Festival Stage at the Entertainment Village.
