Figures from the Amman Chamber of Industry show that Iraq topped the list of countries that imported from the chamber over the past ten months of this year at JOD505 million, compared with JOD697m for the same period last year, Qatar-based Al Sharq reports.
Iraq was followed by Saudi Arabia at JOD469m; India (JOD358m); the United States (JOD335m); and by the UAE (JOD255m), while Qatari imports from the chamber amounted to JOD42.6m over the past ten months of 2015.
The chamber says in a statement released on Sunday that its exports during the past ten months of this year were distributed among mining industries (JOD728m); therapeutic and medical supplies (JOD415m); engineering, electrical and information technology (JOD414m); and food, agriculture and livestock exports (JOD353m).
Exports also included products from the packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies sectors (JOD294m), leather and garments (JOD290m), plastic and rubber (JOD74m), construction exports (JOD46m) and wood and furniture (JOD36m).
