The value of credit facilities granted by Jordanian banks in Palestine rose during the first half of the year by JOD148.5 million compared with the end of last year, according to data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan.
This means the cumulative balance of the value of credit facilities granted by Jordanian banks in Palestine rose until the end of last June by 9.4 per cent to reach JOD1.715 billion, compared with JOD1.56bn by the end of 2014, Jordan-based Alghad Newspaper reports.
The facilities were distributed based on the types of granted currencies, which reached JOD255.6m, and banking facilities granted to all sectors and activities, including individual sectors.
The value of banking facilities granted in US dollars reached JOD880m to represent 51 per cent of the outstanding balance of bank facilities by the end of last June.
Banking facilities in various foreign currencies reached JOD580m, roughly 34 per cent of total banking facilities granted to different economic and trade activities in Palestinian territories.
