Saudi education minister, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has said the cabinet has approved the semester system for secondary schools, beginning from the next academic year, Arab News has reported. “The new system will be implemented in Class One of secondary schools in place of the annual evaluation system, with the continuation of the prescribed textbook system,” the minister said. The semester system will replace the existing one gradually, Prince Khaled said, adding that the old system is still being followed by 80% of schools across the kingdom.
