KSA sets minimum experience for foreign engineers’ work permits

The Saudi Council of Engineers and the government have agreed that only foreign engineers with experience of over four years will be given work permits, Arab News has reported. Experience is calculated from the day an engineer graduates, said secretary-general of the council, Ghazi Al-Abbasi. "We have national projects worth SR400bn on our hands, the bulk of which have already been abandoned," he said, adding that such projects could not be implemented to proper specifications without competent and efficient engineers.
