Ladybird to build region’s first dedicated LEED Gold certified early years learning facility in Dubai

Dubai’s Ladybird Nursery today announced the building of its Early Learning Center, targeting to be the Region’s first LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Gold certified dedicated Early Year’s Learning Facility. Ladybird’s Early Learning Centre will be located in Jumeirah Village Circle and will cater to children ranging from the ages of 4 months to 5 years. Speaking at the announcement, Monica Valrani, CEO of Ladybird Nurseries in Dubai, said, “We want to build a facility that will be every child’s dream. This is a facility that will not only enhance a child’s learning experience but also positively impact the health of our children and staff. At the end of the day, it’s all about our children.” Valrani was extremely thankful to the Dubai authorities, “I would like to thank the KHDA, Nakheel and Trakhees for all the cooperation they have extended to us in making this project a reality. Without them, this would not have been possible.”

The US$10 million facility, being designed by Godwin Austin Johnson and constructed by Al Shafar Contracting, is set to change the Early Years education landscape in Dubai. Located in Nakheel’s Jumeirah Village Circle community, the facility is within a 10-minute driving distance from Emirates Living, Al Barsha, Jumeirah Park, JLT, Motor city and Arabian Ranches.

LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. The certification program is transforming the way we think about how buildings and communities are designed, constructed, maintained and operated across the globe. LEED certified buildings have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy.
