The region’s largest Géant hypermarket chain was officially opened at the prestigious Yas Mall on Friday, 17th December. Choosing this strategic location for this prestigious positioning was a logical step in the success story that underscores Géant’s constant endeavor to set the standards in one-stop retail facilities.
“With the Mall now integral to the whole Yas Island experience and the sizeable influx of discerning residents and visitors, Géant has planned this flagship enterprise in a manner that reflects the overall exciting image of the Island and its lifestyle. With Yas now central for concerts, sports events and a wide range of entertainment options it makes good, sound business sense to offer such a dependable and varied up-market shopping option,” said Mark Anthony Lack, Chief Operating Officer, Géant.
The hypermarket is spread over 120,000 square feet on the lower ground floor premises of the Mall with more than 40,000 products on offer. The variety of goods on offer has been carefully assessed and extended to make this experience as comfortable and satisfying as possible and also make available the best of brands with easy access.
From fresh produce to a comprehensive butchery there are also sections for seafood, groceries, frozen foods and bakery products. Besides the food section, there are special areas designated for fashionwear, shoes, jewellery, electronics, sporting goods, household items, household accessories, cosmetics and fragrances.
Adding a touch of charm to the shopping is a specially created French-style bakery that provides over a hundred different varieties of bread and cake hot out of the oven every day manned by in-house French-trained bakers.
The seafood market, arguably the largest in the country, will offer the widest range and amazing array of freshly harvested catches with the added options flown in from abroad to ensure that every palate is catered to. Much the same thought and care has gone into the butchery, which guarantees prime cuts across the board.
A delightful break in the shopping expedition comes in the form of the rotisserie and the delicatessen with offers an extensive menu of hot entrees and freshly made sandwiches and salads to the accompaniment of select cheeses, olives and gourmet delicacies that cater to local tastes as well as French specialties that mark the heritage of the Géant initiative.

Also available will be the in-house brand, élan, which offers a wide range of products at low prices.
In addition to this easy signage, wide aisles and scientifically laid out product sections make shopping convenient while the staff provide a gracious and courteous service that adds to the good feeling.
