Lebanese private education pay increase would raise tuition fees -schools

Lebanon's Association of Private Educational Institutions has rejected a newly approved pay raise, as it could lead to an increase in tuition fees, The Daily Star has reported. "The association categorically rejects the salary increases at the beginning of the academic year 2011/12 which will inevitably lead to an increase in tuition fees … and threaten the closure of schools and displacement of teachers," it said.
