Lebanon has highest prices among 14 Arab countries

A new survey has shown that Lebanon has the most expensive prices of meat, sugar, tea and milk among 14 Arab countries, The Daily Star has reported. The survey conducted by the Lebanese Union for Consumers' Protection in Cooperation with the Arab Union of Consumers has added that Lebanon has the second-highest prices of potatoes, tomatoes and vegetable oil among the 14 Arab countries. The study also found that the increase in prices in Lebanon were not due to the surge of consumer prices globally but rather to the monopolies and growing margin of profits among Lebanese merchants.
