One of the most important eGovernment solutions in Qatar, it features a number of online services that will serve investors and businesses in the country

Qatari IT services company, malomatia, as part of its partnership with The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) of the State of Qatar recently delivered phase one of the landmark Business Services Setup (BSS) e-service which envisions the transformation of all core business services and enables the automation of these services to serve investors in Qatar.

A number of the ministry’s services are now available electronically through the ministry’s website and mobiles including both Apple and Android stores, as a Beta version release with the ability to secure user feedback, and the full range of services expected to be introduced in the future.

malomatia CEO Mr Yousef Al Naama said: “We are honored to be partners to the MEC on such a landmark project which represents a significant transformation of eGovernment services in Qatar. malomatia is a Qatari company with ideals and ambitions tied closely with our national vision, so it is a great honor to have established a very strong relationship with the MEC. This project also amplifies malomatia’s credentials as a Qatari company that is pursuing a leading role in the IT sector, particularly in bringing opportunities for creating world class e-services and e-solutions for the government sector at various strategic levels.”

Mr Al Naama said: “We thank the Ministry for its considerable support and confidence in our team who have been working alongside the ministry to complete delivery of the first phase of the mandate.”

Through this partnership, the Ministry will receive end-to-end delivery of the comprehensive online Business Setup Services solution – an outcome of stakeholder and consumer research by the MEC to find solutions to the challenges faced by the business community and end users in Qatar’s highly competitive and fast-moving economic landscape.

Malomatia is a leading partner to ministries and government entities in Qatar, with a large portfolio of national IT projects at varying service levels, especially in eGovernment services where the company has a very strong service record in delivering solutions underlined by simplicity, efficiency, control, connectivity and security.

The MEC Business Services Setup e-services solution is available to investors and businesses online and via mobile devices. It provides online applications for business establishment, renewal of commercial licenses and associated services that are important to the business sector.

The MEC announced this landmark project in April 2014, aiming to give both the business community and consumers easy access to a wide range of public services via digital channels.

In addition to enabling round-the-clock access to the MEC and related entities’ services, the initiative aims to achieve the desired transparency and fairness, in addition to greater mobility and access to services.
