Manchester Business School Middle East Centre attracts high quality students to part-time MBA programme

Manchester Business School (MBS) Middle East Centre in Dubai has enrolled its latest cohort of more than 80 new students onto its 30-month part time Global MBA programme in the July 2014 intake and has highlighted the quality of the students attracted to the programme. More than 10 per cent of new students already hold a Master degree and around 30 per cent are already in senior management roles in leading organisations. MBS supports more than 1,600 part time MBA students in the region and offers two MBA intakes each year (January and July). The Middle East Centre is the largest and fastest growing in the MBS international network of seven centres, which also includes Hong Kong, Manchester, Miami, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Singapore. In addition, the MBS Middle East Alumni Group serves a growing community of around 2,000 former students in the region.

Around two thirds of the new students – who are all working professionals – are resident in the UAE with the balance residing in other countries within the GCC. 12 per cent of the new students are women and more than 10 per cent are company sponsored.

MBS continues to innovate elements of its successful part time Global MBA programme to keep it relevant and at the forefront of business practice. New options for MBS’ 2014 MBA students include cutting edge elective modules such as ‘Sustainable Business’ and ‘Venture Capital and Private Equity’.

Ms. Randa Bessiso, Director Middle East at Manchester Business School, commented: “Since opening in 2006, the MBS Middle East Centre has not only attracted large numbers of students but the quality of our students is also very impressive and one of the key factors in our success in the region, in turn helping to attract other high quality students to the Global MBA programme. The Middle East Centre is supporting around 1,600 MBA students in the region and will continue to focus on attracting the calibre of students who can meet the very high standards of MBS and also enrich the whole programme and experience for their peers.”
