The 3rd Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition (MEPEC) 2015 takes place next week in an event that will see thousands of industry experts coming together to facilitate the exchange of practical experiences in all aspects of process engineering in addition to seeking solutions to the various challenges that process engineers face.
The theme of MEPEC 2015 is “Delivering Process Efficiency through Innovation and Value Creation”, and global experts, industry decision-makers, and senior government executives will come together to address topics such as Flexible Technologies for a Competitive Advantage, Resource Sustainability and Expanding the Value Chain to name but a few.
Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and supported by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the 3rd edition of MEPEC will take place from 15 to 17 September 2015 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre.
Conference Chairman, Audah Al Ahmadi, was quoted as saying, “MEPEC has developed continually since its first edition in 2011, and we are confident that this year’s event will be the best yet – in addition to a high level technical program featuring all the key companies and industry experts, we have an outstanding Industry Initiative program that highlights MEPEC’s commitment to investing in the future of Process Engineering.”
MEPEC will feature a fantastic lineup of Keynote Speakers who will add their expertise to the Conference Program, including Antonio Pietri, President and CEO, AspenTech, Rajeev Gautam, President & CEO, UOP A Honeywell Company, H.E. Dr. Alaa Nassif, Executive President and CEO, Royal Commission at Yanbu, and June Wispelwey, Executive Director, AIChE.
MEPEC’s Exhibition will feature over 8,000 square meters of exhibition area and over 150 exhibiting companies from across the Gulf Region and beyond.
MEPEC features a strong program of Industry Initiatives including the 1st AIChE Middle East Regional Chem-E-Car Competion®. Designed to ignite the spirit of innovation in young minds, this activity challenges undergraduate students to develop and construct a car powered by a chemical or biochemical energy source. Audah Al Ahmadi , Chairman of MEPEC 2015, said of the competition, “I am very grateful that AIChE have brought their exciting competition to MEPEC , which is the first time that it will take place in the Middle East Region. It will create the spirit of innovation and competition among chemical engineering students in universities in the area. Consequently, it will enrich their thinking process and enhance their capabilities.”
Other Industry Initiatives include:
The Leadership Excellence for Women Awards – LEWA is a celebration of innovation, leadership, achievement and talent as demonstrated by women in the academic and business sectors of the industry. The 9 LEWA nominees will be recognised at the MEPEC Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner that takes place on 15 September.
ChemME – the dedicated Student Program at MEPEC will allow hundreds of Engineering Undergraduates to access the conference to learn and network with industry professionals, in addition to taking part in activities designed to foster new ideas about the industry such as the Debate Competition and the Simulation Challenge.
Innovation and Commercialization Zone – this is a unique platform exclusively devoted to innovations in the Process Industry. Industrial and commercial companies, universities, inventors and researchers will present their inventions, the results of their research and new products and processes. Participants include Halliburton, Baker Hughes and Dhahran Techno Valley Company.
