The celebrations commemorate the sacrifices made by Emirati men in the battle field, defending virtue and supporting innocent people.

The Ministry of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) participated in the celebrations held around the country on the event of the UAE’s Commemoration Day.

The celebrations, held in response to a call by the country’s wise leadership, commemorate the sacrifices made by Emirati men in the battle field, defending virtue and supporting innocent people.

The celebrations, attended by all MICAD staff, started by flying the national flag at half-mast at MICAD’s entrance at 8.00 AM, in mourning and respect for the souls of the country’s martyrs. At 11.30 AM, the ministry’s staff took a moment of silence and prayer, followed by raising the national flag at the tunes of the national anthem.

On this occasion, HE Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi reaffirmed that Commemoration Day celebrations represent a chance for everyone to pay respect to the souls of the country’s heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their homeland, and defend virtue. Sheikha Lubna also highlighted that these celebrations are another indication of the unity of the country’s people and leadership.

HE also reaffirmed that the UAE, both as a government and at the public level, carry utmost respect to the sacrifices made by its sons, who wrote a new chapter in the nation’s bright history.

HE joined the ministry’s staff in praying to Allah to grant his mercy to the martyrs, and offer their families patience and fortitude.
