Mondelēz International, a world leader in biscuits, chocolate, gum, candy and powdered beverages, with iconic brands such as Tang powdered beverages, Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, Trident gum and Oreo biscuits, announces the appointment of Mohamed Shalaby as Plant Director for its existing cheese and powdered-beverage plant in Manama, Bahrain.
Shalaby joins Mondelēz International’s Bahrain operations with more than 16 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain in the Middle East region, including five years’ experience as Plant Director for Mondelēz International in Egypt.
Before joining Mondelēz International, Mohamed was Chairman of SCC (Supply Chain Council) Middle East Chapter. He also spent several years at Unilever in a variety of supply chain and technical operations roles.
Shalaby will manage Mondelēz International’s existing plant in Bahrain which has been in operation since 2007. The plant produces approximately 650,000 units of cheese and powdered- beverages per day, and employs a 250-strong skilled labor force.
The plant, which exports products across Middle East and Africa, contributes to the Bahraini economy through wages, talent development, manufacturing innovation, raw material and packaging supplies, as well as shipping and distribution operations.
