Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development signed an agreement with the union of fishermen’s association in the country to extend the period of Al Hasela Program, as well as to implement programs to improve the skills for the fishermen, improve the circumstances for fishing activities to increase their income and improve their life style.
The agreement was signed by H.E. Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki the Chief Executive Officer in Khalifa Fund and H. E. Ali Mohamed Al Mansoori the Chairman of the fishermen’s association union. The agreement aims to spread the culture of entrepreneurship among fishermen to improve their skills and expand their activities.
The agreement is expected to server a wide range of Emiratis fishermen with financial and non-financial benefit and facilities for Al Hasela Program. That includes training in entrepreneurship, counselling session and financial services that doesn’t go against the rules and regulations of the Fund.
“Khalifa Fund is working to contribute in the efforts of the Fishermen’s Association Union to reserve the traditional fishing career and improve it”, said Al Darmaki.
“The Fund aims to empower the fishermen to invest their skills and transfer it to permanent source of income through enhancing the culture of entrepreneurship,” added Al Darmaki.
“One of Al Hasela’s target is to convince the Emiratis fishermen to sustain this career and to get benefit of the current technology and techniques. Al Hasela program financed 88 projects with total amount of 12.5 million dirhams,” explained Al Darmaki.
“The agreement with Khalifa Fund is a solid base for a fruitful collaboration to improve the fishing career and to improve the lifestyle for the Emiratis fishermen. Al Hasela program has a very valuable goal to sustain the traditional fishing career,” said Al Mansoori.
Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development will provide a patch of services for the Emiratis fishermen, which includes specialized training sessions to spread awareness and innovation spirit. As well as, awareness sessions of managing projects and provide technical and financial counselling services, and to benefit from exemption and fees reduction in issuing licenses.
