Oman charity calls for CCTV in schools to quash drugs

An Omani anti-drugs charity organisation has called for Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras to be installed at vantage points on school campuses across the Sultanate to identify drug dealers who are targeting students, Times of Oman has reported. "CCTV cameras will record any stranger coming to schools," said Ibtisam Al Busaidy, Vice-President of the Al Hayat Association, the charity organisation set up to create awareness and combat drug abuse in the country. "Drug dealers find students an easy target because once they get addicted, they become dealers themselves and the chain continues to grow," she said.
