Oman reports 1,371 cases of AIDS

A report by the United Nations has said there are 1,371 cases of AIDS in Oman, and called on the Sultanate to review the country's national strategic plan (NSP)to fight the disease, Muscat Daily has reported. "In the past two years, no concrete steps were taken to review and refocus the previous NSP, which was in force between 2007-11," the report said. "Immediate development of an NSP for the current year and an operational plan with the active involvement of all key stakeholders - governmental, civil society, private sector and UN agencies - is the need of the hour," it added.
