One to One – Concorde Fujairah Hotel hosts 5th Fujairah Photography Awards 2015

333 photo entries were submitted for both local and Arabic categories.

One to One – Concorde Fujairah Hotel, a luxury accommodation in the heart of the city, hosted the awarding ceremony of the 5th Fujairah Photography (FPA) Awards 2015 held last June 3, 2015.

A total of 333 participants from 34 countries submitted their entries for both Arabic and local categories. “Mountains” and “The Urban Development of Fujairah” were the two themes from local category while Arab World category includes themes of “General Photography”, “Travel and Tourism”, and “Nature”.

Jerome Kandalaft, General Manager One to One – Concorde Fujairah Hotel, said “We are very grateful to be part of the 5th Fujairah photography competition which supports in showcasing excellent creativity from different people especially in upholding Arabic talents and culture.”

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the ceremony was organized by Fujairah Culture and Media Authority headed by Fatima Yousif.

“Fujairah Photography award has become one of the most prestigious awards that gained excellent reputation throughout the years, supporting local and Arabic creative talents”, noted Yousif.

FPA grand prize, a Hasselblad luxury camera, went to Filipino photographer Alexander Dizon Arevalo. In the local category, the first prize for ‘The Mountains’ theme was awarded to Emirati photographer Sulaiman Ahmed bin Obaid, second prize won by Michael Rafael Cruz from Philippines, and third prize won by Sugesh Gopal from India.

The first prize for the “Urban Development of Fujairah” theme went to Emirati photographer Ibrahim Abdulla Alhammadi. Second prize went to the Emirati Khalid Mohammed Alkendi, and third prize to Ahmed Rashid Al Naqbi, also from the UAE.

Winners of the Arab World Category, general photography theme are: Egyptian Mohamed Abdulnaser Hamamh (1st prize), Palestinian Issam Al Reimawi (2nd prize), and Yemeni Hussain Abdulnoor Al Ahdal (3rd prize).

‘Travel and Tourism’ theme winners are:
Ismail Mohamed Alfarsi from Sultanate of Oman (1st prize), Galal Rifaat Al Missari from Egypt (2nd prize), and Nader Mohamed Saad Allah from Egypt (3rd prize). Winners of the ‘Nature’ theme are: Ahmed Mohammed Al Touqi from Sultanate of Oman (1st prize), Majid Obaid Al Amri from Sultanate of Oman (2nd prize), and Bassem Shaaban Ibrahim from Egypt (3rd prize). The first prize is AED 20,000, the second prize, AED 12,000, and the third prize is AED 8,000.
