As Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) gears up to launch its much-awaited 20th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival on 1 January, it has once again brought together key business entities who have come out in support of the milestone edition of the festival.
DFRE has credited the strong relationship between public and private sector as one of the major factors responsible for the phenomenal success of its annual portfolio of events including the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).
The partnership with the private sector has resulted in a synergic relationship whereby DSF shoppers from around the world get the opportunity to benefit from a wide range of promotions, discounts and prizes, which in turn results in higher retail sales.
The 20th edition of DSF will be held from 1 January to 1 February 2015 under the theme “20th Anniversary – A Journey of Celebrations”, and is set to be the biggest in the festival’s history, with over 150 mega events and attractions that celebrate DSF key pillars of Shopping, Winning and Entertainment.
Commenting on the DSF’s 20th edition, Her Excellency, Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of DFRE, congratulated DFRE’s Strategic Partners and Key Sponsors for shaping the success of DSF’s two-decade-long journey and for constantly contributing to DFRE’s long-term goals and objectives.
“Today, Dubai enjoys an enviable position on the world map as a result of its thriving retail and tourism sectors and is poised for massive growth and development in the future, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. These bright prospects create an ideal foundation for DFRE to support Dubai’s long-term goals through festivals like the DSF, and to sustain its position as one of the leading family tourism destinations in the world,” she added.
“The fact that DSF is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and is expected to attract millions of visitors to the city once again is proof enough that Dubai’s shopping, tourism and entertainment offerings are truly world-class. Indeed, the success of DSF as a key enabler of economic growth is really the success of our partners, who have helped turned a grand vision into an amazing reality. We are proud of our association with the private sector and are ever grateful for their support and contribution in enhancing the reach and scope of our festivals year after year,” she concluded.
DFRE’s Strategic Partners for 2015 are Emirates, AW Rostamani Group, Al Futtaim Group, Emaar Malls, Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Paris Gallery, Enoc/Eppco, Nakheel (Ibn Battuta Mall), Dubai Duty Free, Al Zarooni Group, Meraas Holding, and Etisalat while the Key Sponsors of DSF 2015 are Visa, Emirates NBD, Jumbo, Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, WAFI and Global Village.
