Qatar schools no longer need prior nod to hike fees

Qatar's Supreme Education Council has announced that private schools and kindergartens are no longer required to obtain prior approval to raise their fees, provided the hike does not exceed 5% and if an increase has not been made for three consecutive years, the Peninsula has reported. The regulations also apply for any additional fees charged by the school, including the transport fees. Any school violating this rule will face action, including cancellation of the licence, SEC said.
