Qatar supports Gaza with new projects worth $60m

Arabic and international countries pledged $5.4 billion to rebuild Gaza and to meet Palestinians’ needs

The head of the Qatari National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Ambassador Mohammad Al-Amadi, announced the start of the implementation of number of new development and relief projects worth $60 million in Gaza, Turkey-based Anadolu Agency reports.

Al-Amadi says in his speech, given during a tour he conducted on a number of projects financed by Qatar in Gaza Strip: “I came here to sign new projects contracts in housing, roads, education and infrastructure sectors.”

He adds: “The projects executed by Qatar in the Gaza Strip are going well so far. Raw materials are available and will be delivered on time.”

During his stay in Gaza, Al-Amadi visited the Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani City in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, along with Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital in North Gaza, and Al Rashid and Salah Al Din streets.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Amadi visited Gaza on May 28 this year and signed a number of projects in housing and infrastructure sectors worth $32m.

Many Arabic and international countries pledged last October to present $5.4 billion to rebuild Gaza and to meet Palestinians’ needs.
