Qatar’s HMC suspends non-emergency surgeries

A shortage of anaesthesia respiratory tubes has forced Qatar's Hamad Medical Corp (HMC) to indefinitely suspend all non-emergency surgeries that require general anaesthesia, the Peninsula has reported. Only surgeries of an emergency nature and those for cancer patients are being performed. The shortage was attributed to a fire that broke out in an HMC warehouse in the Industrial Area last month.
