Rage, a part of Dubai Desert Extreme (DDE), synonymous with retailing skate, surf, and snowboarding and BMX equipment, has partnered with Media One Hotel to host a Skateboarding and Longboarding downhill car park race – the first-of-its-kind in the region.
The race will held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Level P7 of the Media One Hotel.
Skateboarders and Longboarders will race down three parking levels whilst handling tight corners and speedy opponents. The top 5 riders from each category, Juniors and Seniors, will compete in the finals for a Land Yachtz sponsorship deal and vouchers up to AED 10,000 from Brands such as NEFF, Darkstar and RAGE. Participants can sign up for the event by filling out the sign up form on the facebook event page – Media One + RAGE presents – M1 Shred.
Alex Medvedev, Brand Manager for DDE Action Sports, explained “We are happy to be partnering with Media One Hotel for this event. We see many skaters racing down car parks and it’s nice to give them an opportunity to compete on a large scale and in a safe environment. It is an amazing spectator sport with the opportunity for UAE residents to support their favourite competitor to the winning line, whilst enjoy a range of refreshments and demonstrations.”
The event will begin at 12 noon. 12pm It will be followed by an after party at TheDek on 8 on Level 8 of the Hotel. RAGE will be setting up their epic Mini Ramp in the Media One car park with a DJ, graffiti artist, giveaways and much more!
Top international skaters from Darkstar, Zero, Almost and Enjoiwill make a special appearance at the event.
