Riyadh schools to be upgraded this year

The Saudi education ministry has said it plans to upgrade technological facilities for schools in the kingdom's capital this year to develop a more technical environment for Saudi students, Arab News has reported. The project involves expansion of network connections, technical management, high speed and more secured online services, among others, according to director of the Information Technology Department at the ministry, Aliwi Al-Aliwi. It will also see administrative and other educational offices in the region being equipped with a text messaging system that will enable faster and more convenient way of communication between school officials and students.
